Our Story
A story told

Cape Island was born in Cape Town, South Africa, a place where mountains plunge into the sea, where ancient cultures weave through modern life, and where the natural world is impossible to ignore. We started with a single belief: that fragrance is the most powerful way to tell a story.
Every candle, diffuser, soap and lotion we create is a love letter to a specific place, feeling, or tradition rooted in the landscapes of Africa. Each scent name is drawn from a real location or cultural moment, from the turquoise coves of Clifton Beach to the dramatic thunderstorms of the highveld.
Our fragrances are sourced from the world's finest European perfumers, then brought to South Africa where everything is hand-crafted in small batches by our team proudly, intentionally, on African soil.
