We are driven by an unwavering desire to create meaningful employment for women across South Africa, particularly those who have been most disadvantaged — and to channel a portion of every sale toward the organisations working to protect and uplift our people and our natural world.

Where We Focus
We exist to create real employment for women from all backgrounds, with a particular focus on those who have been disadvantaged. Our team is largely female, and our production model is designed to support women's livelihoods at every level.
Africa's wild landscapes are our greatest muse. We partner with organisations dedicated to preserving large-scale ecosystems across the continent, ensuring the beauty that inspires our fragrances endures for generations to come.
We support organisations on the frontlines of the fight against human trafficking and exploitation — particularly those offering safe homes and holistic restoration for women and children as they rebuild their lives.

Cape Island was founded by women, for women — and that founding intention shapes every decision we make. From our ownership structure to our production floor, women are at the centre of everything. Creating meaningful employment for women across South Africa, particularly those who have been most disadvantaged, is not a side initiative. It is our core mission.
Every product is hand-crafted in small batches on African soil, using natural plant-based ingredients sourced from the world's finest European perfumers. Our packaging is designed to be reused. A portion of proceeds from every selected Cape Island candle and product is set aside for our partner non-profit organisations in South Africa.
Funds are channelled directly to our seven NPO partners — organisations doing real, verifiable work on the ground in Africa, from rhino conservation to child welfare to fighting modern-day slavery.
